ADVICE ON SNOW and ICE MANAGEMENT
When getting estimates make sure to compare services to services and explain exactly what your expectations are. If contractor A bids $100 on a service and contractor B bids $200 on the same job find out why, possibly contractor A might plow on the side and have to wait to get out of his regular job, is unreliable and probably not properly insured. Contractor B is probably a punctual professional aimed at getting your business or driveway open in a timely mannor with the proper equipment.
Ask yourself these questions about your current or prospective contractor: - Does he adhere to contract specifications?( if contract states 2", is he there every 2" ?) - Does he plow in a timely mannor? - Does he do a good job? (does he push banks back far enough, can you see the curbing, are there lines of snow left?) - Does he communicate well? (can you talk to him before, during, and after an event) - Does he salt when and in the amount he's supposed to? - Does he have proper equipment and enough of it? - Do you see him any other time other then to get paid?
If any of these questions are answerd no you might want to shop around, It's your livelyhood, ask questions.
NOTE: We have liquid anti-icing & de-icing in our snow and Ice management division.
